Investigator-Initiated Studies

Investigator-Initiated Studies (IIS) are research studies initiated and conducted by an investigator who assumes the legal and regulatory responsibilities as the Investigator Sponsor.

Perimeter Medical Imaging may provide support in the form of:

  • Investigational device
  • Consumables
  • OCT training and interpretation
  • Financial assistance

Who is Eligible?

Investigator Sponsors with research proposals that are innovative, scientifically compelling, and consistent with Perimeter Medical lmaging’s long-term strategic research goals and areas of focus are eligible.

Eligibility Requirements

Proposals are evaluated according to their scientific merit, alignment with long-term business strategy and available funding.

The Investigator Sponsor shall agree to:
  • Have the scientific and technical expertise to conduct a clinical study as an Investigator Sponsor
  • Conduct and manage the clinical study according to legal, ethical, and regulatory responsibilities as defined by applicable laws and regulations
  • Supply a copy of a current curriculum vitae (CV)
  • Submit and receive IRB approval/waiver to conduct the clinical study
  • Deliver to an agreed upon study timeline
  • Provide safety reporting to all parties, as applicable
  • Sign a research agreement
